Why we built Wayfinder
When someone passes, families are asked to make big decisions quickly, often without knowing what things should cost or where to start. We talked with a number of people who had been through it, and one theme came up: planning ahead, or making arrangements after a loved one has passed, was difficult and confusing.
We’ve also learned from conversations with funeral and cremation professionals, giving us a better understanding of both the industry and the questions families often struggle to answer. We saw a real need for clear, honest resources, and we set out to fill it.
Who’s behind it
Wayfinder is built by Jonathan and Angelique. We started Wayfinder after seeing how difficult it can be for families to know where to start, what things should cost, and what questions to ask. We wanted to create the kind of resource we would want our own families to have.
Jonathan
Jonathan is a Utah dad who has always been drawn to solving problems that keep going unsolved. He helped create Wayfinder to give families clear pricing, a step-by-step plan, and free resources, so they can spend less time sorting through confusing choices and more time healing and grieving the people they love.
Angelique
Angelique is a Utah mom who has always been drawn to building things that make life easier for other people. She helped create Wayfinder because she believes families shouldn’t have to figure out funeral and cremation decisions while also sorting through confusing information and unfamiliar choices during their most difficult time.

From the source
We collect prices from providers’ published price lists, their websites and phone calls.
Every price is dated
You can see when each figure was checked, so you know how current it is.
Comparisons aren’t for sale
Our city price comparisons list providers in alphabetical order, and no one can pay to change that order.
How Wayfinder is funded
Wayfinder is free for families. We may work with clearly disclosed local funeral home and cremation provider partners, but partnerships do not change our provider comparisons. Any paid placement is clearly labeled “Sponsored.”

Wayfinder is not a funeral home or a cremation provider, and we don’t give legal or financial advice. We help you understand your options, compare information, and know what questions to ask.
