These are the current fees and they can change, so check the Office of Vital Records for today’s amount. The funeral home usually files the certificate and orders copies for you, and adds the cost as a cash advance item. You can also order more later from the Office of Vital Records.
How many copies to get
Count the places that will want an original: each bank, each life insurance policy, retirement accounts, the title office for a vehicle, and the probate court if there is one. Many families order five to ten.
