Package Price
A package price is a bundled price for a set of funeral goods and services, usually lower than buying the same items one by one.
Varies by provider
What a package price can depend on
- 1Buying the casket from that homeThe package discount often applies only if you buy the casket or container there. That’s legal and common.Larkin’s price list says all packages require buying the casket or container from Larkin, with “no allowances for items not used” (effective April 1, 2025). Cannon Mortuary gives no credit for items you remove (effective February 1, 2026).
- 2A “value” and a “savings” instead of a totalOne chain shows two numbers, and we had to call to learn which one you pay.Memorial Mortuaries lists a Package Value and Your Savings. The Package Value is the price if you buy the casket or container from Memorial; with an outside casket you pay both numbers added together (confirmed by phone, August 12, 2026).
- 3How much less it is than itemizedThe gap between the package and the itemized total differs a lot.Larkin’s traditional burial package is $6,195, against $7,654 itemized (effective April 1, 2025).
