A burial plot is the right to be buried in a specific space in a cemetery. In most cases you buy the right to use it, not the land.
What the plot price covers
The plot is usually priced alone. Opening and closing, the vault, perpetual care, and the headstone or marker are separate. Ask for the total before you commit.
In Utah
City cemeteries set their own fees, and many charge non-residents more. Check the city’s current fee schedule.
